ConocoPhillips will make its donation to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. The funds will provide support to Lincoln and Otero counties, according to a company news release. The company will also match donations from its U.S. employees.

ConocoPhillips is contributing $100,000 toward relief and recovery efforts in the Ruidoso area of New Mexico after a pair of wildfires caused significant damage.
“We deeply appreciate the ongoing efforts of our emergency responders and volunteers who are working tirelessly to contain the fires, and we thank the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico for organizing funds that directly support those most affected,” said Delaware Basin Vice President Aaron Hunter.
Originating on the Mescalero Apache Tribe reservation, the South Fork and Salt fires started on June 17, according to wildfire.gov. As of Sunday, July 7, the South Fork fire was 89% contained and the Salt fire was 99% contained.
Command of these fires has been handed over to local authorities.
