Chevron donated personal protective equipment (PPE) worth approximately $19,000 for healthcare workers in Permian Basin communities experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donations were distributed to hospitals, school districts and clinics in Eddy and Lea counties in New Mexico, and Culberson, Pecos, Reeves and Ward counties in Texas.

Procedural masks and medical gloves purchased through MAP International, an organization that provides medical supplies and medications to nonprofit organizations around the world, were distriburted.

“We are thrilled that we have been able to provide PPE to frontline workers across the basin who are battling this pandemic,” said Nathan Carroll, operations superintendent, Delaware Basin for the company’s Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU).

“PPE continues to be a need, and we are grateful to have a partner like MAP that has access to resources and a supply chain.”

Steve Stirling, president and CEO of MAP International, said the company was honored to partner with Chevron on the donation.
