Aug 10, 2019

What an amazing turnout in Carlsbad! A huge number of supporters showed up to advocate for New Mexico’s oil and natural gas industry on August 7.

Take a look:

Thank you to everyone in attendance! We count on your support to make sure that oil and gas can continue to grow our economy, provide more jobs for New Mexicans, and support funding for vital public goods and services.

Here’s what a few local officials had to say about the industry’s importance to New Mexico:

"We take great pride in the fact that we’re providing for the rest of the state, just like a father takes pride in providing for his kids.”
-Carlsbad Mayor Pro Tempore Eddie Rodriguez

“I see we have an opportunity to positively impact education using what we get from oil and gas. I do not want to see that opportunity squandered.”
-Gerry Washburn, Superintendent of Carlsbad Municipal Schools

“Where we’ve seen increases in oil production we’ve also seen decreases in methane emissions.”
-NM Rep. Jim Townsend

Thanks again to all of our supporters who attended this event and the one in Farmington. It really does make a difference! NMOGA will continue to keep you updated as we move forward in this process.
