Multinational oilfield services company Halliburton Co. announced late last year it aimed to hire 200 workers for product service lines and support functions in the booming Permian Basin in southeastern New Mexico. Now officials with the Houston-based oil giant say they are also hiring workers in the state's Four Corners region.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — State regulators say methane emissions from oil and natural gas production in New Mexico have dropped by more than 50 percent over the past year thanks to advances in technology and changes in the way wells are drilled.
