First Committee Meeting Scheduled for February

SANTA FE, NM — The New Mexico Oil and Gas Association (NMOGA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Felix to the National Advisory Committee for Implementation of the BLM Public Lands Rule (Committee). Andrea Felix, representing the energy and mineral development sector, will serve a two-year term as a primary member of the Committee.

The Committee, established by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), comprises 15 primary members and 11 alternate members from diverse backgrounds who share an interest in public lands. These members will provide valuable feedback and develop recommendations for the Secretary of the Interior and the BLM Director regarding the implementation of the Public Lands Rule and associated public outreach and engagement activities.

“We are thrilled with Andrea’s appointment to the Committee,” said Missi Currier, President and CEO of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association. “Her expertise will help make the Committee’s recommendations for the Secretary of the Interior and the BLM Director regarding the implementation of the Public Lands Rule that much stronger.”

Andrea Felix brings extensive experience in energy and mineral development to the Committee. Her expertise will be instrumental in advising on matters concerning the implementation of BLM’s Conservation and Landscape Health Rule, also known as the Public Lands Rule.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity and bring my experience to the table as we help the Secretary of Interior implement critical recommendations around how public lands are used in New Mexico and beyond,” said Andrea Felix.

The BLM will host the Committee’s inaugural meeting virtually on February 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
